Check out the Basics of Hot Gems Slot

Hot Gems is a five-reel online casino slots machine game from Playtech and it features 25 paylines for players to enjoy. This brightly-coloured gemstone-themed video slot has excellent gameplay available, and features both wild and scatter symbols along its reels. The title further includes free spins bonuses as well as a collapsing reel aspect. Playtech has built a reputation on providing interestingly-themed video slots games, and Hot Gems is a perfect example of this game developer’s dedication to creating very playable games that allow players to profit from very generous payouts.

Players Mine for Treasure with Hot Gems

Hot Gems’ setting is a mine, and the player’s task is to prospect for these, along with other treasures, in order to take home some payouts. When the game begins, the player is asked to determine the amount of autoplay spins he or she would like to take advantage of, with the highest possible amount being 99, and then to go about setting the total of an amount to bet. The minimum linebet is 0.2, the maximum five, and this works out at a top possible wager of 125 per spin. Each of the 25 paylines is fixed, and the amount of these in play cannot be adjusted by the player.

Symbols for Hot Gems included a bearded miner investigating a gold nugget; a lantern; a prospector’s pick; a coal trolley; and gems in a host of different colours. Interestingly, these gems are not the gateway to the big wins, and are, in fact, classed as the lower-value icons for play. The lowest valued of these is the purple, the highest the gold.

The miner is the icon the player should keep his or her eye on –three of these landing will pay the player 100; four will offer him or her 250; and five will up this amount to a whopping 5 000. The next best icon is that of the lamp, which pays out 75 for three landing; 200 for four appearing; and 400 if five group together on the reels, and this is followed by the prospector’s pick which will offer 50; 150 and 300 respectively. The trolley pays out 30 for three; 100 for four; and 200 for five, and the audio effects which have been added to the games will serve to draw the player in no matter how he or she is accessing the fun: a resonant click accompanies each icon falling into place, alerting the player at once to any significant combinations that have been created.

The Reels Occasionally Cave in During Hot Gems Play

While the player is enjoying the fun of Hot Gems, a number of innovative design aspects will be brought to bear that will increase the fun as it unfolds. One of these features is the gems exploding when they line up to create a winning combination, and, after all the wins of this particular screen have been totalled, the symbols situated above them will fall down, occupying the empty squares beneath, much in the same manner as Tetris pieces would. This collapsing will continue until no more winning combinations have been formed, and occurs in both the base game and the free spins bonus portion of play as well.
